Program coordinator advice and toll-free
contact
All of our program coordinators have studied abroad and are
eager to help students prepare for their own experiences. Each program
coordinator specializes in certain universities and is available to answer
parent and study abroad advisor questions. Coordinators for our Spanish-speaking
programs are fluent speakers of Spanish.

Assistance with applications and
paperwork
Our program coordinators help students choose a university
that will be a good academic and cultural match, and they assist with any
required university paperwork. Rather than sending expensive mail and faxes to
universities abroad, IFSA-Butler provides a convenient U.S. location for all
application and housing materials.
Predeparture mailings
These mailings include a welcome packet, newsletters, budget planners,
Preparing to Study Abroad and
Financing Study Abroad booklets,
host university publications, course information, and all required paperwork. In
addition, we send a mailing with program information to parents.
Assistance with visa paperwork
Where permitted by a country’s
embassy, IFSA-Butler supplies students with visa application instructions and
materials. Our coordinators are happy to assist students with the application
procedures, although applying for and obtaining a visa from a foreign government
is always the student’s responsibility.

Advice on group or independent travel
Monthly payment option
IFSA-Butler gives parents and students
the option of monthly payments through enrolling in Academic Management Services
(AMS). AMS charges only a flat fee and no interest for participation.
Optional group flights for most programs
IFSA-Butler
understands that students may be more comfortable starting their study abroad
experience with a group, so we work closely with a travel agent to find
convenient and affordable international flights. Our on-site offices offer
airport reception and transportation to orientation for group flight travelers.
